The Best Tulsa Restaurants for dining with kids – this is a little bit of a joke in our family, because eating out with two small children feels much more like punishment than a treat. However, if we are in a pinch, and for some reason think we cannot make it home with carryout, we will eat in a restaurant. Some delusional part of our brains also tells us that *maybe* this time will be better. Another, more intelligent, part of our brains tells us that as parents we need to take them out and try to teach them how to behave in public. So far that’s an epic failure.
So, if we decide to eat out and subject ourselves to the public’s judgment of our parenting, and our kids tempers, these are some of our favorite local spots:
1. Chimera: great food, food the kids like too, games, friendly folks that don’t mind our kids wandering around while they wait
2. Elote: it just doesn’t get any better. The wrestling ring is as good or better than any playground, and the kids (and more importantly the adults) like the food.
3. Cafe Ole: For some reason my kids are on much better behavior when they eat outside. The friendly staff and casual atmosphere always make us feel welcome.
4. In the Raw: This is a joke. We love sushi, and eat here just to torture the kids who work there and act like they will never have small children who will act like ours.
5. Andolini’s: Again, patio! Although it would be nice to be further from the street. Our kids love pizza (and so do we, they come by it naturally).
6. Yokozuna may hate me for saying this, but they have a killer happy hour! Since we eat super early with the kids, we love that they have happy hour every day of the week on some delicious sushi rolls. I’m pretty sure we may be banned after the last time we ate there. Rowan spilled a very full bowl of very sticky rice. My embarrassing attempt at cleaning it up did nothing.
7. Zoe’s: This casual, pseudo-fast food spot has delicious, healthy options, but is so casual that when we are eating around 5:30, we aren’t disturbing anyone.
8. Antoinette’s: The folks here are so friendly, and the pastries are so delicious that my kids are way too busy eating to bug anyone else.
9. Ediblend: Kids love smoothies. The ladies working here are always so sweet, and it’s a quick spot to pick up a delicious smoothie or fruit bowl that the kids will love.
